Promote Your Health Club Using the Facebook Timeline

In the internet marketing industry it is 100% impossible to go through the day without seeing or hearing something about Facebook.  I am personally on Facebook from the point I walk in the door in the morning till the time I leave at night.  No, I am not talking to friends or “Facebook stalking,” I am working on projects and monitoring Facebook comments.  One thing I have noticed is that the new Facebook timeline has banned the use of a call to action on the Facebook timelines, which means that we have to look elsewhere to promote our health clubs or use the features provided by Facebook.  I have provided a list of new Facebook features, along with the image sizes, and how they can be used to help promote your health club page.

  1. Cover Photo (851×315) – This sets the tone for your entire page and lets the consumer know who you are and what you do.  Feel free to include a logo, images of your products, and something unique about your health club.  Remember to try to keep this as simple as possible and not too wordy.
  2. Apps (111×74) – Applications allow you to showcase your photos, videos, likes and other features.  You can also create custom apps for coupons, email lists and more.
  3. Private Messaging – We can now directly message our fans privately, while they can also message us.  This allows us to have greater interaction with fans and get to know them better
  4. Pin – A Pin can be used to keep an image or blog post at the top of your page without it moving to the bottom due to other posts.  This can be used to showcase a special event or promotion.
  5. Highlight (Star) – This allows you to increase the size of an image or post so it stands out.  This is a great was to show off a special image or article.
  6. Milestones – This allows you to display an image about the history of your health club and tell a story about hour your company began.  This is another great way to brand your Facebook page.
  7. Admin Panel – This allows you to manage posts, list milestones, track analytics, see messages and notifications and more.  It also lets us know the impact our posts, products and ads are making.
  8. Ads & Sponsored Stories – These features allow for us to spread the word about our company through pay per click advertising.  It also allows for us to narrow down the types of people we would like to advertise to and find the perfect target audience.

I really encourage you to look into all of these features and also the other features the new Facebook timeline has to offer.  Although Facebook is changing, it does not mean that our Facebook marketing needs to be finished as well, we just need to roll with the changes.  If you need any help using any of these features feel free to ask one of our representatives at Best Gym Websites.

I am a satisfied and happy Best Gym Websites client!

“My last website which I thought was optimized and doing its job only netted me a half dozen online inquiries in all of 2010. In the first six month going live with BGW we have received 80 new inquiries resulting in numerous new joins totaling annualized revenue of $14,000 and counting. I like the fact that I can track my website leads. Our site looks better, is easier to navigate, and—best of all—my staff or I can make changes ourselves, and if we can’t figure it out the BGW Team is there to help. For once I can say my advertising money is being spent in a productive way. I am a satisfied and happy BGW client!”
